Maria Raga is an angel investor and entrepreneur with a focus on technology and consumer sectors. She began her career at Bain & Company before joining Groupon UK, following her MBA at INSEAD. She later joined Depop as VP of Operations and was subsequently appointed CEO. From 2016 to 2022, Maria led Depop through a remarkable phase of growth and culminating in its successful acquisition by Etsy in 2021. Maria now serves on the boards of the Women’s Professional League and Collagerie. She is also an active angel investor in startups, including Trip, LOCI, OMADA, Clipdrop (acquired by Stability AI) and Transak. Born in Valencia, Spain, Maria now resides in London with her husband and three children. In her spare time, Maria enjoys connecting with Depop’s entrepreneurial Gen-Z community and promoting women in the workplace. Maria is a Venture Partner at Creandum, a European venture capital firm, where she works closely with portfolio founders to help them scale their organizations and create resilient company cultures for the long term. She also serves as an advisor at Felix Capital, a London-based venture capital firm. Her investment focus includes e-commerce, retail, marketplace, fashion, and internet sectors, primarily targeting seed and pre-seed stages. Maria's geographical focus spans the United Kingdom, United States, and Spain. Maria's investment philosophy centers on supporting early-stage companies with strong growth potential in the technology and consumer sectors. She leverages her extensive experience in scaling consumer brands to provide strategic guidance and operational support to portfolio companies. Her track record includes leading Depop through significant growth and a successful acquisition, as well as investing in and advising several startups in the e-commerce and technology spaces.
