Mark Rampolla

Overview

Mark Rampolla is an entrepreneur and angel investor recognized for his investments in early-stage companies. As co-founder and managing partner of GroundForce Capital, he focuses on investing in companies addressing human and planetary health challenges. Previously, he founded ZICO Coconut Water, pioneering the coconut water category and selling the brand to The Coca-Cola Company. He later repurchased the brand, demonstrating his commitment to its mission. In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Rampolla has invested in over one hundred companies, served on more than twenty boards, and raised over $1 billion in capital. His investments span various sectors, including food and beverage, health and wellness, and technology. He is also a co-founder of PowerPlant Ventures, a fund dedicated to supporting companies that aim to transform the global food system. Rampolla holds a BA in business from Marquette University and both an MBA and a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University. His diverse background includes roles as a Peace Corps volunteer, corporate executive, and author of 'High-Hanging Fruit.' He is deeply passionate about helping entrepreneurs overcome constraints to live and lead with true freedom.
