Mastercard Start Path is a global program dedicated to supporting innovative startups in the commerce and fintech sectors. Launched in 2014, it aims to help early-stage companies succeed by leveraging Mastercard's extensive network, resources, and expertise. The program offers startups access to Mastercard's global ecosystem, including banks, merchants, and technology partners, facilitating rapid scaling and market expansion. Start Path focuses on startups that have raised investment (Seed, Series A, or later) and have live products generating revenue. The program seeks companies with unique solutions, clear market differentiation, and strong teams passionate about scaling their businesses. Areas of focus include open banking, embedded finance, account-to-account solutions, blockchain, digital assets, small business support, emerging fintech, and security solutions. Since its inception, Start Path has supported over 500 startups across more than 55 countries, with these companies collectively raising over $25 billion in capital post-program. The program has been recognized for its impact, including being named the World’s Best Corporate Accelerator in the 2020 Corporate Startup Stars Awards. Start Path continues to empower startups to innovate and drive the future of commerce and fintech.
