Micah Spear

Overview

Micah Spear is a multidisciplinary design entrepreneur and artist exploring material application in sensorial experiences. Grounded in a framework of design thinking in strategic consulting, art, and integrative architecture, Micah brings his perspective to investment and advisory roles in purpose-driven start-ups through Spear Impact, and ongoing conceptual and interactive works. Spear co-founded and served as director of Sightful, an integrative design & research consultancy serving Fortune 100 companies including General Motors, Facebook, LVMH, Microsoft, and MTV. He is also a member of Fast Company’s Creative Braintrust, a group assembled to 'rethink the future of travel [and] explore ideas and innovations that aim to inspire even greater breakthroughs in travel.' Sightful’s intellectual property was acquired in 2023. In addition to other investments in neural-behavioral wellness, tech, aerospace, and specialty agriculture, Micah serves as an advisor to Kimino, a Japanese beverage maker, using traditional farming to share sparkling juice in over 30 countries today. He studied at MICA, Parsons, and Columbia Business School, among others. With a decade of experience immersed in Japan's ritual culture, he served on the board of The Noguchi Garden Museum in New York City, contributing to design and finance committees. Originally from rural northwest Connecticut, he now splits his time between New York City, New England, and Tokyo.
