He is the founder and CEO of Capellas Partners, a strategic technology advisory firm that provides guidance to companies in technology development and manufacturing. He served as CEO and Chairman of Compaq Computer Corporation, where he led the company to become a global leader in computer servers. Following the merger with Hewlett-Packard, he became President of the combined entity. In 2002, Capellas was appointed Chairman and CEO of WorldCom, later rebranded as MCI, where he successfully transformed the company into the world's largest carrier of internet traffic. After MCI's acquisition by Verizon, he became Chairman and CEO of First Data Corporation, a global leader in payments and electronic commerce. From 2009 to 2012, Capellas was the Founding Chairman and CEO of VCE, a joint venture between Cisco, EMC, and VMware, focusing on cloud computing solutions.
