Michael Lints

Overview

Michael Lints is an angel investor with over 20 years of experience in the startup ecosystem, focusing on early-stage technology companies across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He is a Partner at Golden Gate Ventures, a Singapore-based venture capital firm, where he leads the firm's initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In this role, he focuses on cross-regional capital formation, early and growth-stage investments, and portfolio value creation. Michael joined Golden Gate Ventures in 2013 and has been instrumental in expanding the firm's global reach, raising funds, and guiding portfolio companies through later-stage rounds, acquisitions, and exits. Prior to his venture capital career, Michael co-founded an IT-managed services startup in Europe in 2000, which was acquired by a large data and telecom company six years later. In 2007, he founded a venture fund focused on Dutch small- and medium-sized enterprises, providing capital financing, business development, and strategic support. During the same period, he served as Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Board Rotterdam, where he launched the Young Economic Development Board to foster public-private relationships and increase local business investment. Michael is also passionate about social justice and co-directed the award-winning social impact documentary 'Broken Chains.' Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael is an active sports enthusiast, having been a member of the Dutch karate team and participating in Ironman 70.3 races and marathons. He leverages his network to raise awareness for important issues such as civil rights, economic opportunity, and education. Michael holds a certificate in Private Equity and Venture Capital from Harvard Business School and a Master of Information Engineering in Information Technology from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
