Modern Distillers Ltd. is a state-of-the-art distillery located in Jinja, Uganda, specializing in the production of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA). Established in December 2015, it marked the beginning of the Modern Group's expansion in Uganda. The facility boasts a production capacity of 10 million liters per annum, making it one of the most efficient distilleries in Africa. The distillery's infrastructure includes a 12-ton per hour boiler, a 1 MW turbine for steam generation, and a 500 kV diesel generator as a power backup. The company emphasizes quality control, operating a UNBS certified laboratory to ensure the highest standards in its products. Over the years, Modern Distillers Ltd. has diversified its operations, contributing to various sectors such as manufacturing, construction materials, fertilizers, sanitizers, tiles, sugar refining, gas production, aluminum production, pharmaceuticals, steel, iron ore, power generation, food processing, and packaging. The company's commitment to quality and innovation has earned it numerous awards, including the Best Foreign Direct Investment project award for Modern Tiles in the Annual Investment Meeting Awards in 2022. Additionally, the company has been recognized for its contributions to Uganda's economic growth and development, with plans for further investments in sectors like pharmaceuticals, sugar, and steel industries.
