MMP Buikwe Industrial Park

Overview

MMP Buikwe Industrial Park, established by MMP Group, is a private industrial park located in Buikwe District, Uganda. The park spans approximately 950 acres and is strategically situated near Jinja Town, adjacent to Lake Victoria. It aims to host over 75 medium to large-scale industrial units in the coming years, contributing significantly to Uganda's economic transformation. The park is home to various manufacturing facilities, including Modern Agrichem Industries, which specializes in producing insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Despite its growth, the park faces challenges such as irregular standards, supply chain issues, and power outages affecting production. The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has engaged with the park to address these challenges and improve the business environment. Additionally, the park has been involved in initiatives like the establishment of a women-led industrial hub, marking a significant milestone in advancing grassroots economic empowerment for women in the region.
