Monique Woodard

Overview

Monique Woodard is an angel investor and the founder of Cake Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on investing in companies that address major demographic changes, including aging and longevity, the increased spending power of women, and the shift to a majority-minority population. She has invested in early-stage companies such as Blavity, Court Buddy, Mented Cosmetics, and Silvernest. Before founding Cake Ventures, Monique was a Venture Partner at 500 Global, where she invested in early-stage companies in the U.S. and Africa. She also served as a Venture Scout at Lightspeed Venture Partners and advised foundations and venture capital firms like SoftBank on increasing capital allocation to diverse fund managers and entrepreneurs. With over 15 years in the technology industry as an entrepreneur, product-focused operator, and advisor, Monique holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Miami and is a Kauffman Fellow (KF26). She is based in San Francisco, California.
