Nordic Secondary Fund
Overview
Nordic Secondary Fund, established in 2018, is the first and only fund in the Nordic and Baltic regions to exclusively invest in secondary transactions. The fund focuses on acquiring stakes from earlier investors in venture or growth companies post-Series A, providing liquidity to founders and early investors. With over €140 million raised and more than 30 transactions completed, Nordic Secondary Fund has significantly contributed to the regional startup ecosystem. Notably, the fund has invested over €25 million in Baltic scale-ups and allocated more than 45% of its capital to Baltic founders and companies. In April 2023, the fund made its third investment in Finland by acquiring a stake in Varjo, a Helsinki-based extended reality company, for approximately €3 million. This investment underscores the fund's commitment to supporting innovative companies in the Nordic and Baltic regions. Additionally, in November 2023, Nordic Secondary Fund invested $2.4 million in DTE, an Icelandic company specializing in next-generation metal production and manufacturing, marking its first investment in Iceland. The fund's strategic focus on secondary investments allows it to provide liquidity solutions to stakeholders in high-growth companies, thereby fostering the development of the regional startup ecosystem. By targeting companies with proven and scalable business models, Nordic Secondary Fund aims to enhance value creation and support the growth trajectories of its portfolio companies.
