Overview

NABVENTURES Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), established in April 2018 to manage Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). The company's mission is to catalyze capital in innovative and sustainable ventures to transform the Indian agriculture and rural landscape. NABVENTURES Limited operates two primary funds: NABVENTURES Fund I and AgriSURE. NABVENTURES Fund I is a venture growth equity fund with a target corpus of INR 500 crore, focusing on early to mid-stage investments in sectors such as agriculture, agtech, food, agri and rural fintech, and rural businesses. The fund aims to drive transformation in these industries by providing strategic and operational insights, patient capital, and access to an extensive network. As of March 31, 2024, NABVENTURES Fund I has invested in 14 startups related to the agriculture, rural, food, and finance sectors. AgriSURE, also managed by NABVENTURES Limited, is a SEBI-registered close-ended Category II AIF with a total corpus of ₹750 crore. The fund is set up to support innovative, technology-driven, high-risk, high-impact activities in the agriculture and rural startup ecosystem. It intends to invest in sector-specific AIFs, sector-agnostic AIFs, debt AIFs, and direct equity investments in startups. The target beneficiaries include startups working in agriculture and rural development sectors, encompassing areas such as agritech, food processing, animal husbandry, fisheries, supply chain management, farm mechanization, biotechnology, waste management, renewable energy, agri value chain development, support for FPOs, technology support at the farm level, and climate change initiatives. NABVENTURES Limited's investment strategy emphasizes providing patient capital and strategic support to early and mid-stage companies, aiming to foster sustainable growth and innovation in the agriculture and rural sectors.
