Nickhil Jakatdar

Overview

Nickhil Jakatdar is an accomplished entrepreneur and angel investor with a diverse portfolio across technology, healthcare, and sports sectors. He is the CEO of GenePath Diagnostics, a company focused on providing affordable molecular diagnostics for genetic disorders and infectious diseases. Prior to this, he co-founded Vuclip, a mobile video platform that scaled to 41 million users before being acquired by PCCW. He has also founded and led several startups, including Timbre Technologies and Praesagus, both of which were acquired by major corporations. As an angel investor, Jakatdar has supported over 50 startups, including Flutter (acquired by Google), Mezi (acquired by American Express), Viewics (acquired by Roche), and CommandCAD (acquired by Cadence Design Systems). His investments span various stages, from seed to growth, and cover industries such as technology, healthcare, and sports. He is also an investor in the Oakland Roots Sports Club, a professional soccer team based in Oakland. Jakatdar holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and has been recognized with awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the College of Engineering, Pune, and the UC Berkeley Distinguished Alumni Award. He is actively involved in community initiatives, serving on the advisory boards of the South Asian Heart Center and CITRIS and the Banatao Institute, and is a founding member of the Bhau Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership in Pune, India.
