Overview

Nigeria Infrastructure Debt Fund (NIDF) is a closed-ended investment trust established to provide investors with regular and stable income by primarily investing in debt instruments of infrastructure projects located in Nigeria. The fund is listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and the FMDQ Exchange, offering investors diversification, liquidity, and improved transparency. NIDF aims to build a diversified portfolio of investments in projects that provide essential economic and social services, have long-term predictable cash flows, and possess assets with long useful lives. The fund's investment strategy focuses on sectors such as power generation, including renewable sources, transportation and logistics, telecommunications infrastructure, storage and transportation facilities for hydrocarbons, water treatment and distribution, waste management, and social infrastructure like hospitals and schools. NIDF primarily invests in senior and subordinated debt of private or public sector-led infrastructure projects, with at least 80% of its assets allocated to senior debt, securitized debt, or loans to government agencies. The remaining 20% may be invested in working capital loans, subordinated debt, preferred shares, or warrants. As of March 31, 2025, NIDF's portfolio comprised 28 investments with a weighted average annualized yield of 22.31% and a weighted average tenor at disbursement of 9.22 years. The fund's objective is to provide investors with regular, sustained, long-term distributions and to preserve capital over the long term by generating exposure to Naira-denominated infrastructure debt in Nigeria, which generates regular and predictable long-term cash flows.
