Overview
The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) is a municipally controlled investment fund established by the City of Calgary in 2018 to accelerate diversification and job creation. The fund is administered by Calgary Economic Development and has a volunteer Board of Directors. OCIF supports catalytic investments within the city to help diversify and transform the economy. Since its inception, OCIF has committed over $91 million to 63 projects, generating over $1.1 billion in economic activity and creating or retaining over 3,500 jobs. The fund focuses on sectors such as technology, healthcare, energy, aerospace, life sciences, financial services, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, construction, retail, education, media, telecommunications, and real estate. OCIF invests in projects at various stages, including seed, early stage, growth, and late stage, with investment sizes ranging from $1 million to $10 million.
