Oriol Juncosa

Overview

Oriol Juncosa is a Spanish entrepreneur and investor with over 15 years of experience in the tech industry. He is the co-founder and managing partner of Plus Partners, a venture capital firm based in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to establishing Plus Partners in 2024, Oriol co-founded ESC Venture Capital (formerly Encomenda Smart Capital), one of Spain’s most active early-stage funds, where he backed more than 40 startups, including Cobee, Amphora, and Remitee. This fund is currently in its divestment period and ranks among the top 10% in terms of DPI in Europe for its vintage. Earlier in his career, Oriol served as CFO and shareholder at Carto, a business intelligence SaaS company, helping the company grow from 10 to over 100 employees and raising close to $100 million in funding from investors such as Earlybird, Accel, and Insight Ventures. While at Carto, he also invested as a business angel in over 20 companies, including Holded, which achieved a top SaaS exit in 2021 in Southern Europe. Additionally, Oriol was an Investment Director at Nauta Capital, a venture capital fund with over $300 million under management, where he invested in and contributed to the growth of European technology startups like SocialPoint, ABA English, and ForceManager. Before his venture capital career, Oriol worked in investment banking and principal investment at Merrill Lynch and BNP Paribas in London for eight years and in technology strategy consulting with Monitor Group. He holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School and an MBA from London Business School. Oriol is passionate about helping tech startups commercialize new technologies and business models, scale internationally, and navigate fundraising and M&A processes.
