Overview

The Paul Ramsay Foundation is a philanthropic organization based in Australia, established in 2006 by the late Paul Ramsay AO. Its mission is to help end cycles of disadvantage in Australia by creating opportunities for people and communities to thrive. The Foundation invests in and partners with organizations and communities across Australia, builds the capability of organizations and the for-purpose sector, and aims to positively influence policy and outcomes through collaboration and advocacy. The Foundation's approach includes granting and investing in communities and organizations, building insights, data, knowledge, and capability in the areas where it works, and aiming to positively influence policy and outcomes through collaboration and advocacy. It works alongside people and organizations, across sectors and communities to change policies and programs, where resources go, and hearts and minds. The Foundation seeks to support innovation, is evidence-informed, and measures what matters. To help achieve positive intergenerational change, it uses its resources to invest, build, and influence. In 2019, the Foundation expanded its philanthropic scope and activities, investing more than $220 million in health, education, and early childhood initiatives. It partnered with organizations such as Ticket to Work, which found jobs on the open market for more than 200 young people with disabilities, and Teach for Australia, which placed 150 new, high-performing young teachers in disadvantaged schools in Tasmania, the Northern Territory, and the ACT. The Foundation also launched a new partnership with Indigenous Eye Health at the University of Melbourne, contributing to suicide prevention programs and supporting Indigenous communities across Australia.
