Petr Baron

Overview

Petr Baron is a British banker and angel investor, currently serving as the CEO of tbi bank, a prominent challenger bank operating in Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Germany, and Lithuania. Under his leadership since 2016, tbi bank has transformed into one of the most profitable and innovative banks in Southeast Europe, recognized for its mobile-first approach and customer-centric culture. Prior to joining tbi bank, Baron held various senior roles in the banking sector across Europe, including serving as CEO and Chairman of VAB Bank in Ukraine, where he played a pivotal role in merging nine companies into a unified financial services entity. He also founded the MAXI loyalty program coalition in Ukraine, which became the first multi-branded loyalty initiative in the country, enrolling 2.7 million members by 2018. In addition to his banking career, Baron has made angel investments in several fintech ventures, such as Silverbird, Finmap, Releva.ia, FintechOS, Lili, 3S Money, Swipe, ANNA Money, and Myos. He holds a BSc in Investment and Financial Risk Management from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School) in London and a Master's degree in Business Management (Finance) from Richmond American University London. Baron is also a passionate collector of contemporary art and an enthusiast of rugby and boxing.
