Randy Bufford

Overview

Randy Bufford is a Louisville-based entrepreneur and investor, best known as the co-founder and former chair of Trilogy Health Services, a leading provider of senior healthcare services. Under his leadership, Trilogy expanded its operations across multiple states, offering a range of services including assisted living, memory care, independent living, and skilled nursing. In 2015, Trilogy was acquired by a joint venture between Griffin-American Healthcare REIT III and NorthStar Healthcare Income, Inc., with Bufford and his management team retaining a significant equity interest and continuing to manage the company's assets. Following the acquisition, Bufford transitioned to the role of chairman of the board at Trilogy in late 2019, with Leigh Ann Barney succeeding him as president and CEO. In early 2022, he assumed the role of president and CEO of Synchrony Health Services, an ancillary services subsidiary of Trilogy. However, in July 2023, Synchrony was reintegrated into Trilogy as a business unit, and Bufford stepped down from his position, continuing as an adviser to the board and supporting business development and key customer account relationships.
