Ray C. Davis

Overview

Ray C. Davis is an American businessman and co-owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Avatar Investments, L.P., a family-owned diversified investment company. Prior to founding Avatar, Davis spent over 30 years in the energy industry, co-founding Energy Transfer Partners in 1994 and serving as Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors until his retirement in 2007. He also served as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Energy Transfer Equity from its initial offering until his retirement. In addition to his role with the Texas Rangers, Davis has been involved in various investments across multiple sectors, including energy, real estate, sports, entertainment, technology, infrastructure, media, healthcare, consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications, transportation, hospitality, retail, and education.
