Rich Battista

Overview

Rich Battista is an angel investor with a background in media and technology investments. He has a long and accomplished career in the entertainment, media, and sports industries, having served as CEO and Board Chairman for several large-scale multiplatform companies. Notably, he was the CEO of Time Inc., where he led the company's transformation and its $2.8 billion sale in 2018. He also served as CEO of Gemstar-TV Guide International, overseeing its turnaround and successful sale for $2.3 billion in 2008. Additionally, he was an executive at Fox Entertainment, culminating in his role as President of the national sports and entertainment cable networks group. Currently, he serves as the Executive Chairman of Adweek and Wave Sports + Entertainment, and is a board member of Main Street Sports Group and RB Media. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a cum laude undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. He is also the founder and chairman of the Georgetown Entertainment & Media Alliance, an alumni networking organization comprising over 6,000 Georgetown alumni in media and sports. In 2015, he received Georgetown's John Carroll Award, the university's highest alumni honor.
