Richard A. Muller is an American physicist and entrepreneur recognized for his significant contributions to nuclear waste disposal and energy solutions. He co-founded Deep Isolation, a company focused on deep borehole disposal of nuclear waste, and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. Additionally, Muller co-founded Deep Fission, a company proposing to license a deep borehole light water reactor design. He is also a Professor Emeritus of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles, including key work on the safety of deeply buried nuclear waste. Muller's entrepreneurial endeavors extend beyond nuclear waste management. In 2010, he co-founded Berkeley Earth, an independent non-profit organization aimed at addressing climate change concerns, particularly the global surface temperature record.
