Rob Mallery is an angel investor and talent professional based in San Francisco, United States. He currently serves as the Head of Talent & Operations at Magic AI, a company specializing in AI-driven code completion and generation solutions. In this role, he focuses on building aligned and comprehensive AI systems to accelerate progress on significant global challenges. Prior to joining Magic AI in April 2023, Mallery was a Member of Talent Staff at OpenAI from November 2021 to March 2023, where he contributed to assembling a team of engineers, researchers, and policy experts dedicated to ensuring the safe development of artificial general intelligence. Before his tenure at OpenAI, he held the position of Vice President of Talent and Collaborations at The AI Foundation from January 2018 to November 2021, overseeing the growth of a diverse team of researchers, engineers, and creatives. Mallery's earlier career includes serving as Vice President of Talent at Originate from November 2009 to January 2018, where he played a pivotal role in building the company's team and culture. He is also the founder of Lassen Group, a multi-million dollar software recruiting firm established in 2004. Mallery holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
