Overview

SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Finance Facility is a collaborative initiative supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by IPE Global. The facility aims to strengthen India's healthcare system by providing funding and support to healthtech startups, focusing on improving access to affordable and quality healthcare services for vulnerable communities. SAMRIDH combines commercial capital with public and philanthropic funds to address barriers hindering private investment in market-based health solutions. The initiative offers both grant and debt financing provisions to healthcare enterprises and innovators, enabling them to scale high-impact health solutions. SAMRIDH also provides technical assistance and capacity-building components, helping enterprises unlock new sources of capital through blended financing solutions for long-term sustainability and expansion. Since its inception in 2020, SAMRIDH has supported over 90 high-impact health solutions, reaching more than 21 million people and training over 38,000 medical professionals and community health workers. SAMRIDH's approach has been recognized globally, winning the P3 Impact Award at the 2022 Concordia Annual Summit in New York for its innovative partnership to improve health systems in India. The facility collaborates with various stakeholders, including government bodies, bilateral donor agencies, large philanthropies, leading corporates, and financial institutions, to strengthen healthcare delivery in India through innovation and co-creation. SAMRIDH continues to explore partnership opportunities with those who share the vision of an inclusive healthcare system in India, inviting them to join in advancing this mission.
