Sarah Drinkwater

Overview

Sarah Drinkwater is a seasoned angel investor and community builder with over 15 years of experience in the tech industry. She is the solo General Partner at Common Magic, an early-stage fund investing in products where community is a core moat. Prior to this, she led Campus London, Google's space for startups, and established a global community team for Google Maps. Sarah has also advised organizations such as Protocol Labs, Gitcoin, and The Design Museum. In addition to her venture work, Sarah is a Non-Executive Director at Mind Foundry and a Fellow at The RSA. She has been part of Atomico's angel program from 2020 to 2022 and led initiatives at Omidyar Network focused on responsible technology. Sarah holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Reading and an MA with Distinction in Renaissance to Enlightenment from UCL. Based in London, she is also a contributor to Gitcoin, Crypto, Culture and Society, and Startupy. Sarah is known for her thoughtful, fast-moving approach to backing bold ideas at the intersection of technology, trust, and belonging.
