Serg Bell is a Singaporean entrepreneur and investor, best known as the founder of Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection. He co-founded Runa Capital in 2010, a venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments in deep tech, enterprise software, and fintech infrastructure startups across Europe and North America. Under his leadership, Runa Capital raised over $500 million and invested in more than 100 companies, including Nginx, MariaDB, Zopa, Brainly, drchrono, Smava, and Mambu. In 2023, Serg Bell stepped down as a general partner at Runa Capital to focus on other ventures. He is also the founder and chairman of Constructor Group, an international research-led institution focused on science, education, and technology. Additionally, he has been involved in developing several science and quantum tech projects, including QuEra, ID Quantique, IonQ, and Pasqal. Serg Bell holds a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. (Hons) in Physics and Electrical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. He has co-authored over 350 patents and has an h-index of 45, reflecting his significant contributions to technology and innovation.
