Overview

Shinhan Financial Group is a South Korean financial holding company offering a comprehensive range of financial services. Its subsidiaries provide banking, securities, life insurance, and investment banking services. The group operates a matrix system to expand the business of each subsidiary, ensure a coherent and efficient group strategy, and optimize the use of all its resources, particularly capital and personnel. As of the end of 2020, it operates seven businesses in a matrix structure: GIB, WM, Global, GMS, Pension, Real Estate, and Digital. The group has 17 subsidiaries, including Shinhan Bank, Shinhan Card, Shinhan Investment Corp., Shinhan Life Insurance, Shinhan Capital, Shinhan Asset Management, Jeju Bank, Shinhan Savings Bank, Asia Trust Co., Ltd., Shinhan DS, Shinhan AITAS, Shinhan Credit Information, Shinhan Alternative Investment Management, Shinhan REITs Management, Shinhan Fund Partners, Shinhan REITs Management, Shinhan Venture Investment, and Shinhan EZ General Insurance. The group has a global presence with offices in 20 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Germany, India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Mexico, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, Poland, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates. The group is listed on both the Korea Exchange (KRX) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
