Shreya Rao is a distinguished partner at AZB & Partners, co-heading the firm's Private Client Practice. With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in private client and tax matters, advising promoter families, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and their institutions on structuring inter-generational wealth transfers through trusts and wills, philanthropy, luxury assets, and family governance structures. Her expertise extends to international private client issues, particularly concerning Indian-origin clients residing in the United States, United Kingdom, and Singapore. Additionally, Shreya provides tax advisory services related to mergers and acquisitions, investments, funds, and non-transactional income tax and international tax matters. Before joining AZB & Partners in June 2018, Shreya co-headed the Private Client Practice at Nishith Desai Associates and later founded her own boutique law firm, Rao Law Chambers, in 2016. She holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from the National Academy of Legal Studies & Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad.
