In 2006, he co-managed a hedge fund funded and sponsored by George Soros. Subsequently, he founded Melak Investments, focusing on developing ventures in Iraq, which later merged with Rabee Securities. Under his leadership, Rabee Securities has become the sole manager of major listings in Iraq, such as AsiaCell and Zain, earning international acclaim. Rabee Securities specializes in real estate, private equity, and venture capital investments, targeting early-stage to pre-IPO companies. The firm has a strong geographical focus on Iraq, Turkey, and the United States, and has invested in a diverse range of industries, including real estate, construction, financial services, technology, telecommunications, healthcare, retail, consumer goods, energy, education, media, transportation, hospitality, agriculture, and manufacturing. Investment sizes range from $1 million to $50 million. Mr. Taha holds a biomedical engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from George Washington University. He resides and works between Iraq, Turkey, and the United States, overseeing Rabee Securities' operations and strategic direction.
