Overview

Established in 1964, Société Nationale d'Investissement du Cameroun (SNI) is a state-owned investment company with the government as its sole shareholder. Its mission is to mobilize and channel national savings and other financial resources towards financing economic and social investments in sectors such as industry, agriculture, commerce, finance, services, and hospitality. SNI achieves this by initiating projects, conducting studies, acquiring shares in companies, negotiating financial instruments, granting loans, and providing technical assistance to various entities. SNI operates as a public limited company, adhering to the legal provisions applicable to such entities in Cameroon. It functions as a venture capital firm, taking equity stakes in new or existing companies with promising commercial and financial prospects. Additionally, SNI acts as a project promoter, initiating and developing productive projects in joint ventures with identified national or international partners. It also provides financial support to economically viable and financially profitable projects through loans or shareholder advances. Over the years, SNI has played a pivotal role in supporting the government's economic, industrial, and social strategies and policies. Its activities have significantly contributed to the development of various sectors within Cameroon, aligning with the country's broader economic objectives.
