Sophie Purdom

Overview

Sophie Purdom is the Managing Partner of Planeteer Capital, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage climate technology companies. She co-founded Climate Tech VC (CTVC), a strategic research and content platform that tracks venture capital investments in climate technology. CTVC has an audience of over 50,000 subscribers and has tracked over $100 billion in venture capital invested into thousands of climate technology companies. Sophie has invested in 18 climate companies, including Remora, WeaveGrid, Amogy, Sinai, and Patch, often as the earliest, climate-first investor. Prior to her venture capital career, Sophie launched an ESG investment fund at a major endowment, published a book on sustainable investing, worked at Bain & Company, and helped found and raise $65 million for Kula Bio, a company developing carbon-negative fertilizer. She is also a board member and editorial contributor for CTVC. Sophie holds a degree from Brown University and has been featured in major outlets such as the Financial Times, New York Times, and Bloomberg. She is based in New York City.
