Established in 2009, SSG Capital Management is a pan-Asian alternative investment manager focusing on special situations investing in Greater China, India, and Southeast Asia. In January 2020, Ares Management Corporation announced an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in SSG Capital Holdings Limited, the parent company of SSG Capital Management. The transaction was completed in July 2020, further expanding Ares Management's global leadership in private credit. Following the acquisition, SSG Capital Management was rebranded as Ares SSG. The firm continues to operate under the Ares SSG name, providing alternative investment strategies across Asia. As of March 31, 2020, SSG managed over $6 billion in assets, offering differentiated investment strategies to its global investor base.
