Steve Bennet

Overview

Steve Bennet is an experienced angel investor and CFO specializing in early-stage technology startups. He has been involved in over 100 technology startups, primarily in the software, internet, and mobile sectors. His investment focus includes areas such as advertising, e-commerce, enterprise software, location-based services, education, small and medium businesses, information technology, analytics, mobile, clean technology, consumer internet, social media, geolocation tech, SaaS, social commerce, and clean energy. He invests between $5,000 and $50,000 in seed and early-stage companies across the United States. In addition to his investment activities, Bennet serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Callisto Media and has held CFO roles at companies like Qvivr Inc. and iControl Networks. He is also the founder and managing director of Bodega Partners, a management consulting firm that has assisted over 75 companies in meeting their strategic and financing goals. Bennet has a strong passion for both entrepreneurship and education. Since 1995, he has taught entrepreneurial finance at San Jose State University and has been a lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. His focus is on experiential education, and he has developed new courses at SJSU, including the Entrepreneurship Lab (ELAB), Venture Lab (VLAB), Startup Founders and Funders, and the Silicon Valley Experience.
