Overview

Sturgeon Capital is a boutique investment management company specialising in frontier and emerging markets. The company focuses only of the markets of Central Asia and the 'New Silk Road'. These include the markets of the Caucasus in the West, across the littoral states of the Caspian Sea over to Mongolia in the East. Sturgeon Capital currently manages four Funds: Sturgeon Central Asia Fund, Sturgeon Central Asia Equities Fund, Sturgeon Central Asia Balanced Fund and Tau Capital. \\Launched in December 2006 the Sturgeon Central Asia Fund is a multi-strategy hedge fund investing in public and private equity and fixed income opportunities across Central Asian markets.Sturgeon Central Asia Fund is a Cayman Islands-domiciled fund. \\Tau Capital was launched in May 2007 and invests in public and private equity opportunities across Central Asian markets with a focus on Kazakhstan. Tau Capital is a London AIM listed closed-end fund in liquidation.\\Sturgeon Central Asia Balanced Fund is a closed end Dublin-listed fund investing in bonds and equities across Central Asian markets.\\Sturgeon Central Asia Equities Fund is a UCITS IV fund. Launched in October 2012, the Fund invests predominantly in equity and equity related securities of companies listed on regulated market exchanges where those companies have substantial expsoure to Central Asian markets. The Fund is open to both retail and institutional investors and provides weekly dealing and liquidity.
