A comprehensive 2008 study, the Southwest Florida Regional Angel Fund Assessment (SWFRAFA), evaluated the entrepreneurial ecosystem and recommended establishing an angel fund. Supported by 12 key regional organizations, Tamiami Angel Fund I, LLC was created to support local innovation. Following its success, GCVF transformed into FusionPointe, a venture development organization dedicated to creating investor-ready startups in Southwest Florida. The firm has been active for over 14 years, with 48 portfolio companies and 160 unique members.
