Tianwei Liu is a Singapore-based angel investor and fintech entrepreneur. He is the Co-founder and CEO of StraitsX, a fintech company specializing in regulatory-compliant stablecoin infrastructure in Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, StraitsX has developed XSGD and XUSD stablecoins, recognized under the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Single-Currency Stablecoin framework. The company collaborates with major financial institutions like DBS and Standard Chartered to facilitate real-world payments, cross-border settlements, and programmable financial services. In addition to his role at StraitsX, Liu serves as the Group Deputy CEO at FAZZ Financial Group and was previously the CEO and Co-founder of Xfers, a SaaS-based fintech company providing payment processing and cash transaction solutions. His career includes positions at Amazon Lab126 and WIMM Labs, where he gained experience in software development and engineering. Liu holds a degree in Computer and Electronic Engineering from the National University of Singapore and has participated in the Y Combinator program. As an angel investor, Liu has invested in several fintech startups, including UpBanx, DeZy, Finblox, and Verihubs. His investments focus on early-stage companies in the fintech sector, particularly those involved in digital payments, blockchain technology, and financial services.
