Tim Kochis is an experienced angel investor and former CEO specializing in wealth management and financial planning. He has over 50 years of experience in personal financial and investment planning, having served as CEO and Chairman of Aspiriant, one of the industry's largest and most admired firms. Prior to that, he was the National Director of Personal Financial Planning for Deloitte & Touche and Bank of America. In 2012, he founded Kochis Global, a consultancy focusing on wealth management and investment planning services, especially in Asia. He has advised a select group of executives, professionals, and business owners throughout the United States and overseas since 1973. He has been active in setting professional standards, having served as president of the CFP Board of Standards, chair of the Financial Planning Standards Board, Chair of the Foundation for Financial Planning, and Founder of the Financial Planning Certificate program at the University of California. He has also served on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including The Asian Art Museum, The University of San Francisco, and The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, a JD from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in action.
