Toby Randolph Neugebauer

Overview

Toby Randolph Neugebauer is an American billionaire businessman and political donor based in Texas. He co-founded Windrock Capital, an energy investment banking firm specializing in raising private equity and providing merger, acquisition, and divestiture advice for energy companies. Windrock Capital was later acquired by Macquarie, marking a successful exit in the financial services sector. Prior to Windrock, he was an investment banking analyst in Kidder, Peabody & Co.'s Natural Resources Group, focusing on corporate debt and equity financings, mergers, acquisitions, and other highly structured transactions for energy and energy-related companies. In 1998, Neugebauer co-founded Quantum Energy Partners, a private equity firm specializing in the energy industry, where he served as co-managing partner. At Quantum, he was involved in early investments in the Barnett Shale and the formation and development of Linn Energy and Meritage Energy Partners. After his tenure at Quantum, he co-founded Banzai Capital Group, a private investment firm focusing on various asset classes and geographies. Neugebauer has also been involved in philanthropic efforts, focusing on family formation and preservation in inner cities in the United States. Internationally, he has worked with orphanages in China, helped build and maintain schools in Africa, specifically in Rwanda and Zambia, and supported children in Africa financially. He is originally from West Texas and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from New York University in 1993. He resides in Dallas and Aspen with his wife, Melissa, and their two sons, Nate and Noah.
