Overview

Tom Ricketts is the Executive Chairman of the Chicago Cubs and the founder of InspereX, a fintech firm specializing in fixed income distribution and trading. He co-founded Incapital LLC in 1999, which later merged with 280 CapMarkets to form InspereX in 2021. Under his leadership, InspereX has underwritten over $800 billion in securities and serves more than 400 issuing entities. In 2009, Ricketts led his family's acquisition of the Chicago Cubs, and in 2016, the team won its first World Series title in 108 years. He has been recognized for his contributions to sports and business, including being named the Sports Business Journal Executive of the Year in 2017. Ricketts holds a B.A. in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. He serves on several boards, including Meijer, Inc., NorthShore University HealthSystem, Choose Chicago, and the Field Museum. He and his wife, Cecelia, live in the Chicago area with their five children.
