Overview

The UC Berkeley Foundation is dedicated to supporting and advancing the mission of the University of California, Berkeley by encouraging private philanthropy and providing leadership to ensure Berkeley’s place as a preeminent global institution. Governed by a Board of Trustees composed of professional, business, and philanthropic leaders, the Foundation assists the University in securing gifts, trusts, and bequests to nourish programs throughout the campus. It also manages the Foundation’s endowment funds and oversees its trusts. The Foundation's investment strategy encompasses a diverse range of asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, fixed income, hedge funds, infrastructure, commodities, ESG and impact investing, crypto, distressed and special situations, and collectibles & art. This broad approach allows the Foundation to support a wide array of initiatives and investments that align with the University's mission and objectives.
