Overview
Established in 2018, the Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF) is a state institution dedicated to supporting innovative projects and tech startups in Ukraine. Operating under the Ministry of Digital Transformation since 2023, USF aims to foster the growth of the startup ecosystem and enhance the global competitiveness of Ukrainian technology companies. The fund offers various support programs, including grant support, innovation vouchers, corporate innovation opportunities, and the 'Seeds of Bravery' initiative, which provides up to €60,000 to Ukrainian tech SMEs and startups. USF has been instrumental in supporting over 380 startup teams, facilitating more than 360 events such as hackathons, bootcamps, educational lectures, and mentoring sessions. Additionally, the fund has received over 7,000 applications and engaged 205 pro bono experts in its operations. Notable successes include startups that have secured significant investments and international recognition, such as Esper Bionics, which was featured on the cover of Time magazine and recognized as one of the 200 best inventions of 2022. Through its comprehensive support programs and active engagement with the startup community, the Ukrainian Startup Fund continues to play a pivotal role in driving innovation and economic development in Ukraine.
