Overview

Established in 2016, VIISA is a business acceleration program and seed-stage investment holding that invests to build global-ready startups in Vietnam. With a fast-growing middle class, increasing digital penetration, and a deep technological talent pool, VIISA believes entrepreneurs can leverage these opportunities to change the world starting from Vietnam. VIISA is powered by FPT Corporation and Dragon Capital Group. VIISA operates in the early-life segmentation of startups, bridging the funding gap until companies are mature enough to attract more growth capital, such as Series A or B rounds. It invests in the range from pre-seed to Series A, with up to $500,000 total exposure in various sectors, including fintech, healthcare tech, edtech, and e-commerce. The accelerator has invested in more than 40 startups across Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and South Korea, with notable investments including Base, Urbox, Medigo, The Bank, Algo, Casso, Shub, MGi Proptech, and PrimeData. Starting from 2021, VIISA has shifted its focus to direct investing activities, committing to bring more resources into the right startups. The accelerator has carried out nine batches of acceleration programs and invested in more than 40 bright startups. It was the winner of Best Accelerator or Incubator Program 2019 at the Vietnam Rice Bowl Startup Awards. VIISA's strong capability in identifying markets ready for digitalization, combined with the vision of its founders, leads it to the right investment opportunities. It adds value by leveraging networks from founding GPs, Dragon Capital Group, and FPT Corporation, to create sales or partnership opportunities for portfolio companies.
