Overview

Virginia Active Angel Network (VAAN) is a professionally managed, membership-only network of accredited investors that convenes in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the Blacksburg & Roanoke areas. The group focuses on providing funding and mentorship to early and seed-stage ventures primarily in central and southern Virginia, as well as the greater Mid-Atlantic region, including Maryland, Washington, DC, North Carolina, and West Virginia. VAAN was founded in 2005 by a group of University of Virginia alumni and has since expanded its reach to support a diverse range of industries and entrepreneurs. The network's investment strategy emphasizes collaboration among members to identify and support promising startups. VAAN's members are encouraged to participate actively in the due diligence process, ensuring that investments align with the group's collective expertise and interests.
