Overview

Vuka Platform is a regulated investment platform in Kenya that allows retail investors to invest in income-generating real estate assets, specifically through the Acorn Student Accommodation Income Real Estate Investment Trust (ASA I-REIT). By aggregating funds from individual investors, Vuka facilitates the purchase of units in ASA I-REIT, providing access to dividends and capital appreciation from student accommodation properties. This model democratizes real estate investment, enabling individuals to own a share of professionally managed properties with a low entry barrier. The platform offers two investment portfolios: Vuka Imara and Vuka Prime. Vuka Imara focuses on income and stability, investing 100% of its funds in the ASA I-REIT, targeting a 7% annual return. Vuka Prime combines income and growth by allocating 70% to the ASA I-REIT and 30% to the ASA Development REIT (D-REIT), aiming for a 12% annual return. Both portfolios are designed to cater to different investor risk profiles and return expectations. Vuka's approach provides investors with passive income through dividends and potential capital gains from property appreciation. The platform is regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), ensuring transparency and compliance with financial regulations. Investors can trade units among themselves on the platform, enhancing liquidity compared to traditional real estate investments.
