Wallonie Entreprendre is the public regional promotional institution for the Belgian region of Wallonia. It was founded in 2002 under the name of SOWALFIN. In 2023, it changed the name to WE – Wallonie Entreprendre and merged with two other Walloon NPIs. WE provides financial and non-financial services to SMEs. One of the financial solutions proposed by the Group consists in the issuance of guarantees and counter-guarantees on bank loans and leasing operations. In addition, it offers export guarantees and counter-guarantees. As of end-2021, WE had an outstanding guarantee volume of more than €354.8 million and supported almost 4,200 SMEs. WE is the economic and financial tool of Wallonia at the service of businesses, created by the merger of Sowalfin, SRIW, Sogepa, and Sofinex in January 2023. WE provides the resources needed to develop business in all sectors. Its investments and financing are geared towards the creation, growth, transfer, recovery, and internationalization of businesses.
