Wayra CEE

Overview

Wayra CEE was a startup accelerator based in Prague, Czech Republic, operating as part of Telefónica's global network of Wayra academies. It focused on nurturing and investing in early-stage technology startups from Central and Eastern Europe, providing them with office space, funding up to €40,000, and access to a global network of mentors and partners. The accelerator aimed to help startups scale their businesses and integrate with Telefónica's extensive customer base. The accelerator's program was open to startups from various sectors, including e-health, logistics, software, mobile applications, data analytics, smart cities, education, real estate, travel, communication, digital security, agriculture, advertising, and social innovation. Startups selected for the program received support in product development, market entry, and business growth, with the goal of preparing them for global expansion. Wayra CEE concluded its operations in March 2015, after which its activities were integrated into other Wayra academies, such as Wayra Munich, to continue supporting startups in the region. The accelerator's legacy includes a network of alumni companies that have gone on to achieve success in various industries, contributing to the growth and innovation of the Central and Eastern European startup ecosystem.
