Overview

An angel investor and CEO of ScienceIO, formerly known as Cascade.Bio. He co-founded ScienceIO in 2019, a company that develops a biomedical language platform to transform complex medical text into usable data and actionable insights. Under his leadership, ScienceIO raised $8 million in seed funding in October 2021 and was acquired by Veradigm in February 2024. Prior to founding ScienceIO, Manidis was a fellow at The Thiel Foundation from 2019 to 2021 and worked in data roles at Foundation Medicine and Immuneering Corporation. He also served as a partner and managing partner at the Dorm Room Fund from 2016 to 2019. As an angel investor, Manidis has made personal investments in approximately thirty companies, including Vana, Mainstreet, Vial, Varda, Loyal, Party Round, CommandBar, Dorsal, Hex, Prefix, Texts, Broadcast, Inngest, Catena, Treecard, Wander, and Butterfly Labs. He has also invested in funds such as Banana Capital, Todd & Rahul's Angel Fund, Heterosis Ventures, and the Weekend Fund. His investment focus spans various sectors, including technology, healthcare, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, space technology, financial services, consumer goods, media, data infrastructure, e-commerce, SaaS, fintech, edtech, proptech, and healthtech. Manidis typically invests in seed to early-stage companies, with individual investments ranging from $100,000 to $5 million.
