Yaser Alghamdi is a Saudi Arabian investor and founder of Waad Investment, a private investment firm dedicated to supporting growth-stage startups. Waad Investment, launched in August 2024, has a targeted value of 750 million Saudi Riyals (approximately $200 million), making it the largest private investment firm in the region focused on this sector. The firm aims to bridge the financial gap many startups face by offering comprehensive support, including financial investment, mentorship, and guidance, to enable startups to launch products and expand locally, regionally, and globally. In addition to his role at Waad Investment, Yaser is an active investor in multiple ventures. He has invested in Designhubz, a web-based 3D and AR platform; Ejaro, Saudi Arabia's first licensed peer-to-peer vehicle sharing marketplace; and Serb, a platform for managing drone operations. Other investments include Shaffra, offering Metaverse-as-a-Service; Bayanat, which provides IoI specialty data analysis solutions; Bon, a B2B marketplace for the HoReCa sector; Growdash, focusing on analytics for restaurants; ExpressPay, a payment gateway service; and Takadao, a blockchain-native insurance alternative. Yaser holds a degree in Computer Science from King AbdulAziz University, obtained between 1993 and 1997.
