Zack Urlocker

Overview

An experienced angel investor and former Chief Operating Officer at Duo Security. Zack Urlocker has a long history with Index Ventures, having held senior leadership roles at three of the firm’s most successful investments over the past two decades. As COO at Duo Security, he helped scale the business leading up to its $2.35 billion acquisition by Cisco. At Zendesk, he guided the company’s growth as COO. Earlier, as EVP of Products at MySQL, he built the subscription business model, which led to a $1 billion acquisition by Sun Microsystems. Beyond his operating roles, Zack has advised and served on the boards of numerous enterprise software companies, supporting founders as they expand globally and build world-class go-to-market organizations. He is a frequent speaker on scaling technology companies. Zack is a reformed marathon runner, road cyclist, occasional bass player, and is using AI to develop a graphic novel adaptation of his noir detective novel “The Man from Mittelwerk.”
