Dhruv Patel is a businessman and politician based in the United Kingdom, known for his roles in property, retail pharmacy, and the London insurance market. He has been an elected member of the City of London Corporation since 2013, representing the Aldgate Ward. In 2015, he became the first individual of Indian origin to chair the Community and Children’s Services Committee, overseeing various local authority functions including schools, housing, and social care. In 2019, he was elected as the Chairman of the City Bridge Trust Committee, the funding arm of the City of London Corporation's charity, Bridge House Estates, which grants £20 million annually to support disadvantaged communities across London. Under his leadership, the committee launched the 'Bridging Divides' program, a five-year initiative distributing £100 million to charities aiding Londoners in need. In recognition of his voluntary service to the British Hindu community and social cohesion, Patel was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours. He is also the founder of the City Hindus Network, a non-profit organization established in 2005 to promote networking, education, and charity among Hindu professionals in London. Patel's business interests include property development, retail pharmacy, and insurance underwriting, and he serves as a partner at Clockwork Underwriting LLP, an admitted underwriting member of The Society of Lloyd's. He is married with two children and resides in Leytonstone, London.
