Ekuity Capital
Overview
Ekuity Capital, formerly known as the Tunisian-Kuwaiti Consortium of Development (CTKD), was established in 1976 as a joint venture between the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), the Tunisian Government, and the Tunisian private sector to promote the hospitality and tourism sector in Tunisia. Initially, the company focused on managing the Abou Nawas Hotels, which expanded to 18 units by 1980, earning acclaim for its management practices. Over the decades, Ekuity Capital diversified its portfolio, becoming one of the largest diversified investment institutions in Tunisia. The firm now holds significant ownership interests in over 20 companies across various sectors, including financial services, real estate, manufacturing, food and agribusiness, telecom, media and technology, retail, and other services. Ekuity Capital's investment strategy centers on creating long-term value by actively encouraging companies to make investments that drive organic growth and profitability, as well as supporting their acquisitions. The firm aims to invest between 5 and 35 million Tunisian dinars in minority stakes in companies with high development and expansion potential, both locally and internationally.
